Emric to launch Helicopter service

NEW DELHI, India (Reuters) – Kochi-based Emric Aviation Pvt. Ltd plans to start a helicopter charter service for tourists visiting Kerala, after having waited long in the wings for a licence to operate as a regional airline.

The Union government has put on hold new licences for regional airlines, which were meant to serve smaller cities and towns not on the radar of bigger carriers, because of the turmoil in domestic aviation stemming from high jet fuel costs.

CAE joint venture to open Helicopter Training School in India

March 23, 2009, Montreal. CAE Inc. said Monday it plans to open a $60-million helicopter training centre in India as part of a joint venture next year.

The Canadian company, which builds flight simulators and provides training services, and partner Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. said they finalized contracts and confirmed financing to open the Bangalore centre by the second half of 2010.
