Private Helicopter Pilot License - PHPL

The journey of flying a helicopter typically begins with the Private Helicopter Pilot License. By receiving your Private Pilot's License you will have a proven mastery over the fundamentals of rotor-craft airmanship, navigation, and communication. PHPL is probably the most thrilling and satisfying of all the pilot ratings, the Private Pilot can fly virtually anywhere under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) while taking passengers along for the adventure.

Commercial Helicopter Pilot License (CHPL)

The Commercial Helicopter Pilot License (CHPL) training makes up the first part of the Helicopter Pilot Training. CHPL provides the formal qualification to be able to establish a career within the commercial Helicopter industry.

The Commercial Helicopter Pilot License allows you to fly for hire. This is the core license needed to do any flying for compensation, such as flight instruction, sightseeing, cargo-carrying, rescue operations etc.. The focus of the training is mastery of the helicopter in maneuvers, night flight and extended cross-country trips.

Admission Requirements For CHPL Training

  • Passed Class XII school examination
  • Zeal and Enthusiasm for adventure
  • Interest and passion to fly high
  • Course duration: 5 months
  • Photocopy of passport front and back
  • Class II medical assessment
  • Class XII mark sheet and signed copy of filled application form
  • Helicop Aviation will submit the documents to Mauna Loa Helicopters
